Leila Quinn Ortiz is a poet born on Manhattan’s lower east side and raised in Park Slope, Brooklyn; she is of Borinquen, Cuban and Irish ancestry. Leila is the author of two chapbooks, Girl Life (Recreation League 2016) and A Mouth is Not a Place (Dancing Girl Press 2017). Leila’s full-length collection, To Banish Demons I Sing Lisa Lisa, is forthcoming from Get Fresh Books. Leila’s poems can be found in Apogee, Sixth Finch, and The Recluse, among others. Leila serves on the board of No, Dear Magazine and co-curates No, Dear’s reading series, (re) present.
